Once again, it was fantastic to see so many people turning out to play in the Reg Muldoon Trophy at Filton Golf Club.

This was the third year the tournament was held in memory of North Bristol RFC Life Member Reg Muldoon, who we sadly lost in November 2021.

Many Thanks to Chris Bold for pulling the day together which was a huge success all round.

Clubhouse Improvement Works

Picture
Over the next few weeks and months you will start to see changes and improvements inside of the Clubhouse, moving towards a more modern environment, better displays and also preserving our history. We have been fortunate to receive a total of £20k in grants to carry out this work and the money will be put to very good use.

We are installing a new Audio/Visual (AV) system that will see new large TV screens and speakers in both the main hall and the lounge. These TV screens will be used to show photos, advertisements, sponsors and also live action sport and the equipment will allow each screen to be used independently of each other. It will make connecting IT to it so much easier and it will really bring a modern feel to the clubhouse. Many of you would have see that the photographs in the lounge have been removed. These are being digitised professionally so they can be shown on all of the screens. Many of these photographs needed to be digitised to save them, as they were damaged by light, liquids or physical damage over the years. This work will preserve these historic images for the current and future generations to come after us. The originals will also be kept safe. Any new photos, from across the whole club, can also be added and displayed easily in the future. If we continued to add new photos each season, then we would run out of space into the future and this project will also solve that problem.

We are also looking to install a new trophy cabinet (on the same wall as the current old Junior one) as well as create a display of all of the rugby clubs pendants that we have collected across the years. This display will also incorporate some framed shirts too. We are also looking at some modern design options for our Honours Boards and will decide on these once they have been reviewed.

Another project we are looking to do is to create a Mural inside the changing room corridor. An ex-player, who is a highly skilled professional artist, will create and paint it but we’d love to get inspiration from across the club.

What would you like to see painted on the corridor as you walk out for a match?

We welcome any sketches (anyone can hand designs in at the bar or email pictures to [email protected]) or any words of inspiration can be submitted using the attached Form.

If anyone has any questions regarding this project please get in touch. Always happy to chat.

Cheers

North Bristol RFC is delighted to announce it will be supporting the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAA) going forward as part of its wider club strategy and aim to work more closely within our local community.

We are super excited about how we can support this hugely worthwhile charitable cause as a club.

To get the ball rolling we ran a competition to design a change strip for the club, which the winning design from Ang Sheppard focuses around the GWAA helicopter, which can often been seen flying over the club from the other side of the A38. A percentage of the sales from this top, which can be purchased from the club shop, will go towards the GWAA.

Watch this video from our Club Chair Steve Bold to find out more ❤️💙

Silverback Sport

We are ecstatic to be working with Silverback Sport who will be ensuring that everyone will be looking great in the new range of playing kit, leisure wear and accessories.

Silverback will be looking to set up a club shop on their website to allow anyone to order direct from them in the future.  But in the mean time there will be upcoming opportunities to try some sample garments on for size at the Club prior to placing orders.
