
Situated on a 12 acre site of green-belt land overlooking the Severn Estuary, and with panoramic views of both The First and The Second Severn Crossing bridges and the Welsh mountains around Abergavenny, NBRFC is remarkably some 200 metres off the M4 and M5 (Junction 16) intersection at Almondsbury on the outskirts of Bristol. An attractive and spacious clubhouse with modern amenities skittle alley and pool table, is served by three full size rugby pitches, all of which are flood-lit.
North Bristol RFC field three regular teams and sometimes four. The 1st XV play in Western Counties North League (Level 7), and both the 2nd XV and the 3rd XV play in the GRFU run Reserve Leagues. Head Coach is current Bristol Tight-Head Prop Wayne Thompson and he is assisted by current Bristol Fullback John Goodridge. Ex-Bristol fly-half Phil Cue also runs regular kicking clinics. Coaching/training/fitness nights are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays promptly at 7:00pm and there is a weights session run on Monday evenings too. The club has recently installed a brand new gym and there is a separate treatment room where during the week a fully qualified physiotherapist administers injury treatment and advice.
We have a flourishing and very successful Junior Section with some 200+ young players, from U6's to Colts, all with RFU qualified coaches operate on Sunday mornings. The association is very much family orientated and offers many social activities. Annual Rugby Tours are a popular and enjoyable part of their social calendar.
The Senior Club similarly adopt a family orientated policy and offer a wealth of social activities. Some 40 to 50 members participate in the Annual Rugby Club Tour, usually flying into Europe.
